Recycle it? No.. Fix it!

Back in the days we (the company I worked) had a lot of failing LCD monitors. The main problem was high voltage circuit for the back-light. The company did not wanted to mess with this problem, because the monitor costs cheaper than a fix So I got a pile of the monitors that has no back-light (they were on the way to the recycling). I was allowed to do with them anything I wanted. I decided to “upgrade” one

On the first try a made “always-on” back-light version. I did not realize that monitor switches back-light quite often. When it is not switched you see the white screen So the second version has born. It was not bright as native back-light but it was perfect for the command shell monitor

I was working late again. Not sure what was the weather outside, the only thing I saw is a monitor. Nobody was in the office right now. Some random online radio was playing in my headphones. I coded on the fly. This means that I left a lot of mistakes behind. I was going to fix them later, because my goal was to empty the bucket of the ideas – my head. I do not get them a lot that often J

I was deeply in the coding and did not see the security guard that appeared nearby. He complained something about an alarm system and me. I knew that I had to go and tell him that I would stay late, so would not trigger the alarm… again… “Sorry”… He left. I continued to code…

The time passed slowly and I had lost the sense of it. Strangely the security guard appeared again. He was arguing again, but this time I was unable to understand him. Some loud noise in my head was blocking any thoughts. I noticed the green notebook with the eyes closed silver skull on the front cover that the guard had in his hands. And I remembered…

“93 nights of hell”- I screamed and punched the guard in the head. He was too surprised to do anything back. I grabbed the notebook and said “this time I’ll draw the dream”…

All this was so weir that I could not believe that it has happened. I just remembered the words of my grandma: “if you see the green notebook with eyes closed silver skull on it, don’t think, grab it shouting the key words. They mean that you know who is in front of you and what happened long time ago“. According to the grandma it is a spirit of the night who creates a horror dream for those who stay late.

This spirit made a mistake, drawing the horror dream for the priest who was serving an important mass all the night. As a punishment it had to serve 93 nights in its own nightmares.

Time stopped… The guard rose and sat in front of me… We started to negotiate…

The story of my old Audi

When I was a student, I had a lot of time and needed something that could make this time more exciting. I was looking for the” all wheel drive” car. Subaru was expensive so I chose Audi. The ultimate goal was to have Audi Coupe Quattro (Typ85). Unfortunately I could afford only Audi 80/90 (4000) quattro (Typ85). Bought few cars from the different parts of the country, fixed them and sold and finally found “the one” in my home town, near by The car was Audi 90 quattro build 1985 with 2.3 petrol engine, four wheel drive, ABS, electric windows and A/C!!!

Used it for a daily driving and participated in some time attack races. Unfortunately I have crashed it on the race track It was the time that I decided to fix the car modifying it. Better brakes, suspension and engine.

I have rebuilt it keeping in mind that It will stay a daily driven car. Also I liked the idea of the “sleeper” car. It had to look normal outside and be a monster inside

I sold this car. I hope I’ll have a new project someday.

Nightshift fun (e01)

It is nice looking evening – sky is a little bit cloudy and sunlight is slowly fading away. I am working late. Too much annoying things in my mind and I do not want to keep them till tomorrow. I have to solve them now.

The sugar from the drink keeps me up and slowly drains the focus. It is getting harder to code, I am making too much mistakes and spend too much time fixing them.

Suddenly the view in the window became dark, as it was covered by something very large. I have looked outside and my heart stopped for a few seconds. There was a huge face covered with a muscle tattoos on it looking down from the clouds. It was so big, that five stories houses looked like match boxes compared to it.

I have jumped from my chair, spilling everything from the table on the floor. It was just a short horrifying dream… I have to stop watching anime “Attack on Titans” …

Let me introduce myself. I am that positive vibe in all the things everyone hates :) I decided to share the only one seen that I like in the movie “Oz the Great and Powerful”. The movie was not so great, but it inspired me to create this animated gif
